DMCA & Copyright Policy

Download X respects the intellectual property of others. We do not host any videos, images or audio: every file is fetched from X’s servers when a user requests it and passed on without being stored.

Reporting content

If you believe content accessible through Download X infringes your copyright, the most effective step is to report it to X, which hosts the media. You can also contact us at [email protected] with:

  • the URL of the post in question,
  • proof that you own the rights,
  • your contact details.

We will review valid requests promptly and block the reported links from our service where appropriate.

What a complete notice includes

Following the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), a complete notice contains:

  • a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
  • the exact X post URLs or download links concerned;
  • your name, postal address, phone number and email;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf;
  • your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may delay our response.

Counter-notice

If you believe a link was blocked by mistake, send us a counter-notice with the blocked URL, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was blocked as a result of a mistake or misidentification, your contact details and your signature. We may restore access unless the person who reported it tells us they have started legal action.

Repeat infringement

We block links that receive valid notices and may restrict access for anyone who repeatedly uses Download X to infringe copyright.

False claims

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages. Please make sure the rights are yours before sending a notice.
