Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This policy explains what information Download X processes when you use the website, why we process it, and the choices you have.

Information we process

  • The post links you submit, which are used only to find the media and are not linked to you.
  • Standard technical data (IP address, browser type) that servers receive with every request, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
  • Aggregated, anonymous usage statistics such as the number of downloads per day.
  • If you email us, your address and message, used only to reply to you.

How downloads work

When you download a file, it is fetched from X’s servers and passes through our server on its way to your device, so that we can name the file, convert it when needed (for example to MP3 or GIF) and keep download links secure. Files are streamed and never saved: we do not keep copies of videos, photos or audio.

To find the media in a post, its link or ID may be sent to X and to public services that read X posts (such as fxtwitter and vxtwitter). Only the post is shared, never information about you.

What we do not do

  • We do not require an account and we never ask for your X credentials.
  • We do not store downloaded videos, photos or audio on our servers.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Stored on your device

  • A cookie that remembers your language.
  • Your light or dark theme and a short list of your recent downloads, kept in your browser’s local storage. This list never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time from the downloader or in your browser settings.

Cookies and advertising

We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage to remember your language and theme. Advertising partners (such as Google) may use cookies to show and measure ads; you can manage personalised ads in your Google account settings or at www.aboutads.info.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com and learn more at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads or analytics cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used — for example which pages are visited and from which countries. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data such as your IP address and device information; it does not tell us who you are. You can read how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Service providers

  • Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site and therefore processes requests, including IP addresses.
  • Our hosting provider, whose servers run the site.
  • Google (AdSense and Analytics), as described above.

These providers may process data in countries other than your own, under their own privacy and security commitments.

How long we keep data

Technical data used to limit abuse is held in memory for a few minutes. Server and security logs are kept for a short period, normally no longer than 30 days. Anonymous statistics contain no personal data and may be kept indefinitely.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw your consent. Because Download X has no accounts, we usually hold no data that identifies you, but write to us and we will help. We do not sell personal information, and you can limit the use of your data for personalised ads through the Google settings above.

Children

Download X is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
